Should we adopt the wild horses

Posted February 9, 2010

OK, so now the BLM has the horses in pens. They are trying to adopt these horses out but the adoption rate is so low there are more wild horses in long-term facilities then there are in the wild. What is wrong with this picture? How is this still possible? Why are people not asking question? Because the BLM has screened everyones eyes to think what they are doing is good and good for the horses. Tell that to the 38 horses that died recently in the latest round up in Calico. They dies for being pushed too hard.

These horses are wild, they do not tame easy. It could take an average person at least six months to just get the horse to eat out of your hand. Now riding is a whole different issue. Do you really want to break their spirit? Look into their eyes and see their pain.

The BLM and their number issues

Posted February 9, 2010

The BLM has they way of doing things and they have come up with their standard for counting the horses and determining how many need to be removed. The bad part is they will not seem to disclose how they come up with this number. The US Government Accountability Office has audited their records and found many issues revolving around numbers and they just cannot seem to provide good answers, and its not just about the horses. They have issues with land values and such. If they cannot manage the land correctly then what makes them the best canidates for managing the horses?

Something needs to be done, people need to stand up and start asking these questions. Really what is going on here?

The horses and the BLM

Posted February 9, 2010

The horses are being rounded up by the BLM per the ACT they got ammended. Now mind you, this Act was not shown to the public or even known to the public until after it was done. Now they are collecting these horses and putting them in pens. It is horrible what these horses are going thru. They are in good health, most of them, and the BLM wants to pen them up and essentially kill them.

This is just horrible for the horses and we need to stand up for them and speak for them. The BLM is doing things they know they should not be doing, thats why the public is only allowed to watch the roundup from a distance, at certain times and on certain days. This way no one can document what actually happens.

Wild horses and on their own without the BLM

Posted February 9, 2010

The wild horses in the West are being such a target. The BLM states they are varmin and not native to our land so they should not have to share with them. Although it has been proven that their ancestors are from the North America. The horses need to be looked at in a new light and as a symbol to the US not as varmin. They were here first.

Spread the word about the Wild Horses, they deserve it and need it.

pet pages photo contest #28

Posted February 8, 2010

Pet Pages photo contest is back with #28, for at least this week. I still need more photos, as I'm one or two short for next week. Send them to me at dstapleton2003@comcast.net and put photo contest in the subject line.

This week we have some very cute pictures and they are always adorable. I have some of the write-ups or at least a brief description of these and they are so cute. They all have an interesting story, but don't they all. That is one thing pet owners can do and that is talk about their pets. Even the most shy person can come out of their shell when it comes to boasting about their dog or cat.

I just love them and I love these contests. Please send in your photos.

The American Wild Horses

Posted February 5, 2010

There is a hidden extinction that many do not even know about: The American Wild Horses. I have created a series of seven articles that basically spell out where they came from and what is happening to them now. They were before very plentiful in numbers but thanks to an organization called the Bureau of Land Management, aka BLM, they are taking that away from us. There are many hidden agendas, hidden horses, and hidden money that people do not know about nor will the BLM talk about it. I have found many things going on about the BLM that I don't think the average peoson knows about and if they did I don't think most would stand for it.

I would like to invite you to my main page to read the story about these beautiful wild creatures. The first article is the "Wild horese should remain free to roam". Here you will be able to go to the next article by select the title at the end of each article. You have the option to go to the next or go back to the first article. There are movie clips within these articles that will show you the horrible things that the BLM is doing to these horses. I truely have not cried so much in the past week researching out this subject than I have in a year. It is extremely upsetting for someone that loves animals as much as I do.

Posted February 4, 2010

Check out whats pawing around in Savannah this month. There are birthday celebrations going on, adoption events, dog walks and vaccinations clinics. It is really great that our community comes together to do so many pet related things during the month and it helps bring awareness to the homeless pets.

ken Wahl is helping animals everywhere

Posted February 4, 2010

Ken Wahl is now decided to try and help all the animals that are abused everyday by creating a "Tiny Tim" Law that would make all convicted animal cruelty cases be profiled as violent offenders. I really agree with this concept. If a person commits a crime against an anima, it is only the beginning to start on them before going to something bigger like a human. Most animal related crimes are just the start to crimes against people. They have to start somewhere, why not a poor helpless kitten. I also think all states need to have stiffer fines, jail time and such for animal cruelty. We should step up to the plate as Ken has done and help fix this situation before it gets any worse. It could be your pet next that is the target. Then what would you do? Don't wait for it to happen to you.

Posted February 3, 2010

Hello everyone, I have not forgotten about writing any articles. I have been researching for the past week about a very touchy tpoic to write in the National part of Examiner. I don't want to give out the details but it will be worth it. It will be six articles long all connected together like a story. This one is very heartfelt and will open the eyes to so many about what is going on under their very noses. Just wait and check it out I'll let everyone know when it's published. Hopefully it will be ready tomorrow.
